Review:
Heartbeat is an app that pays you to promote products for major brands. Brands get more “bang for their buck” when the people promoting their products are real people (not paid actors) who are sincerely enthusiastic about the product.
Heartbeat tries to match you with things you will like. In addition to being paid, you may even receive free products if you have a lot of engaged followers.
PROS:
- Paid to promote products you enjoy.
- You could receive free stuff.
- Get invited to VIP events from companies wanting “promoters.”
- Once a campaign officially closes, redeem your payment via Paypal. On average, it takes about 7-10 days to receive payment.
CONS:
- Only available in the U.S.
- TikTok & Instagram pay rates differ based on your account’s unique metrics.
- Customer service only available through email
- Once your spot in a campaign is secured and you commit to posting, you are unable to be removed.
How It Works:
Once you download the app and sign up with your Instagram account, the app examines your profile, followers, and “engagement” to connect you with campaigns. The more followers you have, the more likely you are to get an offer and get paid. Your followers have to be authentic, or you will get disqualified for illegitimate followers.
From Heartbeat: “To sign up for campaigns, download the Heartbeat app for Ambassadors! From here, login into your Ambassador account and select the Campaigns tab. Start scrolling to find a few campaigns that interest you. You can apply for a campaign directly from the Heartbeat app by clicking Interested. Application reviewal timeline can vary based on brand preferences.”
If you get through the screening, the app offers campaign opportunities. The description of the offer will include details on what you need to do, how much you can earn, and the proper hashtags to use when promoting the product.
The work involved is usually what you would normally be doing – taking and posting photos; pay is $3-$5/campaign.
More Pay for More Followers
You don’t need to have hundreds of followers to participate, but fewer followers means you are less likely to get chosen for a campaign. Brian Freeman, co-founder of Heartbeat, states that you can get started through contests on the platform. Pay isn’t guaranteed, but you could win cash or swag. Facebook posts may eventually be paid as well.
